My Liquor Bottle Lamp

I'll admit it: I'm a scotch man.
I love all types of scotch and most of my friends know this.
One of my absolute favorite scotches is Glenlivet's Nadurra.

When I graduated from college, good friends of mine got me a bottle of this fantastic liquor. I saved the bottle, and always wanted to do something with it.

This is what became of it:

• I found a DIY lamp kit from Home Depot for $10
• Cut the bottom of the bottle off with a basic glass scorer and a tea light candle
• Found copper gems at hobby lobby
• Cut some cork to hide the slightly uneven glass
• Stained a wood base meant for a clock

After some gluing, cursing, and a blown fuse, it all came together.

I even left the cap to make turning the lamp on easier.

All and all, this was a fun project that will bring back memories of college and friends for years to come.
